Between late February and early March, Eva Marija was a constant presence at the RTL studios, where she recorded content for social media, a new version of her song “Mother Nature”, and shot a video of her performance for the big event, so the production teams behind the scenes could begin working on the technical and visual elements for her Eurovision appearances.
Despite her packed schedule, Eva remains true to the traditions she has nurtured. On Sundays, she attends mass at the English-speaking Catholic parish church in Belair with her family – a ritual that has been part of her life since childhood, where she played the violin in the church choir.
“When Luxembourg rejoined the Eurovision Song Contest, Father Michael, the priest, kept telling me: ‘Eva! It’s time you signed up!’ The next year, he said the same thing. Then when I finally signed up for the third year, and he found out I’d been accepted, he was so happy. I’ve never seen a happier person,” Eva says.
The support of her parish and the time she spends with her family, friends and with herself all help to keep Eva focused during the countdown to the song contest.
