Luxembourg City is once again ready to come alive this summer, as the 31st edition of Summer in the City transforms the capital into an open-air stage from 12 June to 18 September 2026. Organised by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) in close partnership with the City of Luxembourg and a host of cultural organisations, this vibrant programme promises residents and visitors an exciting array of events in some of the city's most iconic locations.
One of the most popular attractions each year, guided tours of the Grand Ducal Palace will once again offer a rare glimpse behind the scenes of Luxembourg's monarchy. From 18 July to 30 August, the official residence of the Grand Duke opens its doors to the public, inviting visitors to explore its history and traditions. As these tours are always in high demand, advance booking is required. Ticket sales begin on 24 June, both at the LCTO's Knuedler office and online.
The LCTO is also offering an extensive programme of guided and themed tours throughout the season, giving everyone the chance to rediscover the capital from a fresh perspective, whether through its history, culture, or hidden gems.
Music will play a central role this summer: During the National Day celebrations on 22 and 23 June, City Sounds will bring both local and international acts to the Glacis and various neighbourhoods across the city. From 3 to 5 July, the Kinnekswiss loves… open-air concert series will transform the municipal park into a lively cultural space. The legendary Blues'n'Jazz Rallye returns on 18 July, turning Clausen, Grund, and Pfaffenthal into one immense stage, with over 40 groups and marching bands performing from 4pm.
The highlight of the summer remains the Schueberfouer, which returns to Glacis from 21 August to 9 September. As the country's largest fair and a tradition dating back to 1340, the Schueberfouer draws hundreds of thousands each year with its thrilling rides, culinary delights, and unmistakably festive atmosphere.
