Twelve artists have secured their places in the next stage of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027, following a revamped audition process that placed greater emphasis on vocal talent, artistic identity, and stage presence.

The first stage of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 took place over the weekend, with organisers introducing a slightly different selection process compared to previous years.

This time, artists were not required to submit an original song and could instead perform a cover, allowing the jury to focus more closely on their individual talents.

A total of 80 artists performed in front of the jury over the weekend, with just 12 selected to progress to the next stage based on their vocal abilities, artistic identity, and stage presence.

Following their auditions, the contestants received a phone call on Saturday evening inviting them to return to RTL City on Sunday. It was there that they discovered they had made it through to the next round, before immediately taking part in a workshop.

The 12 successful artists are Maya Maunet, Perrine Thomas, Carmen Luisa, KIM, Gaïa, Patricia Venâncio, Debbie M, Jaya, Marco Misolic, Clement Lerat, Layso Roy, and Hugo One.

Artists to be paired with songs in November

The next stage of the competition will see the selected artists take part in a so-called "Pairing Workshop" in November, where they will have the opportunity to find suitable songs through a collaborative creative process.

Song submissions remain open until 29 October, meaning artists and songs will be brought together over the coming weeks.

"We already noticed during the auditions that changing the structure of the selection process allowed us to discover completely new faces. These were people we had never come across before, who decided to take part because they were allowed to perform a cover. Now it's about finding songs for these artists that fit into the world of Eurovision", explained Elisabeth Conter, Project Manager for ESC Luxembourg.

Each stage of the selection process will be supported by Eurovision professionals and experts, with the final line-up for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 set to be announced in mid-November.
