The Central Bank of Luxembourg (BCL) provided a press release with details concerning the country's work force in banks. In total, 26,638 individuals were classified as bank employees as of 30 June 2019.

Compared to the previous quarter, the number grew by eight, but compared to a year ago, there have been 146 additional roles filled in the sector.
Bank staff members experienced a relatively even split by gender with a slightly higher number of men employed by banking institutions than women: men account for 14,597 employees and women make up 12,041.

An even more interesting split can be found if you examine the proportion of resident and non-resident employees. Resident employees make up 50.2% (13,370) of banking employees, contrasted with the remaining 49.8% (13,268) non-resident employees.
