
Several fire brigades were deployed straight away. The flames risked passing over to a second barn. The quick response of firefighters prevented the flames from spreading and the fire brigades managed to get the fire under control by 2am.
Work to completely extinguish the fire carried on until 3am and firefighters remained at the scene for several more hours, in case the fire broke out again.
In a press release, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) confirmed that there had been no injuries to either humans or animals.
In total, seven fire brigades making up 70 firefighters were at the scene (Junglinster, Heffingen, Niederanven, Luxembourg, Walferdange, Mensdorf, and the animal safety unit).
