Around 7am, the 91-year-old was hit by the lorry when walking across Rue d’Esch in Mondercange at a zebra crossing.
She was severely injured and rushed to hospital after being treated at the scene by first responders.
The lorry driver was subjected to a drug test, which came back positive. The prosecutor’s office further tasked a crime scene investigation unit with an enquiry. The vehicle responsible for the accident was confiscated.
On Sunday morning, it was announced that the 91-year-old passed away on Saturday afternoon.
