New Year's EveA number of municipalities have already decided to ban the use of fireworks

RTL Today
New Year's Eve is often synonymous with fireworks. However, in order to set them off, permission from the municipal authorities is required.

In Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, the mayor has decided not to allow fireworks on the territory of his municipality. The same decision was taken in Grevenmacher.

The municipalities of Waldbredimus and Esch-sur-Sûre have also decided to ban fireworks during the transition to 2021.

Opinion - Martin Jonsson: Less pop, more fizz - it's time to move on from fireworksThe municipal authorities in Schuttrange advised their citizens to refrain from using fireworks on New Year's Eve out of respect for the environment, residents, and animals. However, they do not prohibit them. For local residents who nevertheless wish to include fireworks as part of their celebration, the municipal council recommends that they do so on a reduced scale (a quarter of an hour before and after midnight) and that they observe the usual rules of caution as well as health regulations.

If your municipality is not on this list and you would like to use fireworks, please contact your town hall beforehand.
