Preceded by the question "Burglars on the run?", the police wrote about an accident on the Facebook post. A dark blue Peugeot 508 crashed between Hobscheid and Kreuzerbuch at around 7.45. It transpires that the number plates were fake and the passengers have fled the scene.
Given the suspicious circumstances, the police advised local residents not to give lifts to any strangers. The police later published a photo of the car in question on their Twitter page.
At 2.30pm on Monday afternoon, the police announced that the driver of the Peugeot had been found and was not involved with the burglary in any way.
