Chamber of DeputiesBudget report delayed to Wednesday

RTL Today
After the Monday bank holiday, this week was due to start with an important matter in the Chamber of Deputies: on Tuesday (23 April), budget rapporteur André Bauler was meant to present the budget report to MPs.

However, in light of the news of Grand Duke Jean's passing on Tuesday, the Chamber of Deputies session has been cancelled.

The conference of presidents met on Tuesday morning and ultimately decided to delay the session until Wednesday (24 April).

As a result, Bauler will present his budget report on Wednesday morning and Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna will follow with explanations.

The vote on the budget will then take place on Thursday (25 April).

Finally, the conference of presidents decided that the Chamber will host an official ceremony in memory of Grand Duke Jean on Friday 3 May. This will then be followed by the official funeral and church ceremony on Saturday 4 May.
