The burglars fled after the police took them by surprise. One of the 3 thieves was able to escape in a grey Audi RS6, with stolen plates (Luxembourg registered, BR4676), damaging a police vehicle in the process. Officers followed the offender as far as Reichlange, where the car was abandoned and the thief continued on foot.
The search continued on Saturday morning, with police appealing to any witnesses who may be able to help locate the burglars. 2 men were around 1,75m tall, of slim stature, wearing caps and concealing their faces. One wore a khaki jacket. The third man was around 1,80m tall, of muscular build, wearing dark clothing.
Police say that due to the conditions of their escape, the thieves are thought to be dirty and wet. Advice to the public is to avoid giving any strangers a lift, and to report any suspicious individuals to 113.
