On Friday evening, the Grand Ducal police responded to more than 20 cases of brawls and family disputes as well as a burglary in Kleinbettingen.

Brawls and altercations

At around 11pm, police were alerted to a fight involving around a dozen people in Dudelange. Witnesses reported that chairs had been thrown from a restaurant terrace during the altercation, and the window of a nearby restaurant was also damaged. By the time officers arrived, most of those involved had already fled. An investigation has been opened.

In total, police were called to around a dozen fights over the course of the night. Where the facts could be established on the spot, cases were either recorded in a report or those involved were asked to file a formal complaint at a later date. Officers also had to intervene in around 10 separate cases of family disputes during the same period leading to two orders to leave being issued.

Burglary in Kleinbettingen

Between 6.30am and 4.30pm, a house on Rue Kahler in Kleinbettingen was burgled. One or more individuals entered through a window at the back of the property, before ransacking the entire house. The forensic police attended the scene and an investigation has been opened.
