The quarantined children from the municipality of Steinsel are allowed to return to school on Wednesday, if their test result comes back negative. A total of 375 children from three cycles and 37 teachers had been quarantined in Steinsel and Heisdorf one week ago. Ten individuals had tested positive for Covid-19, among them eight adults. The Ministry of Education stated in a press release that the adults had also been in contact with each other in their private lives.
The total number of children and teachers who tested positive in Steinsel and Heisdorf was not disclosed.
The parents of the quarantined children from cycles one, three, and four were asked to get their children tested on Monday. Children with a negative test result are allowed to return to school on Wednesday, while the others must remain in quarantine.
As an additional measure, the mobile large-scale testing task force was sent to Steinsel on Friday in order to test the entirety of the pupils.
On Tuesday, parents of the affected children also received a letter from the regional school administration detailing the main information.
As of Wednesday, quarantined or isolated children are to be taught in their own homes by their respective teacher.
