From Thursday, Luxembourg residents will once again have to dig deeper into their pockets for diesel and heating oil.

Prices had fallen for three consecutive times over the past 11 days. Diesel dropped from €2.007 per litre on 11 April – the record price of €2.186 was reached on 4 April – to €1.753 on 21 April. From Thursday, however, the price will rise again, increasing by exactly four cents per litre to €1.793.

Heating oil will also become more expensive from Thursday, rising by 4.1 cents to €1.240 per litre. However, this remains well below the €1.469 paid on 11 April, as well as the peak of the current price crisis so far, when heating oil cost €1.649 per litre.
