Permanent Committee for Labour and EmploymentEmployers more critical of part-time work

RTL Today
After the unions for employees and employers clashed in September over the CPTE committee, discussions are finally back on track.

Representatives of the government, trade unions and the Luxembourg Employers' Association (UEL) met on 2 December for the second time as part of the committee. One of the main points on the agenda was part-time work.

The government's stance was that everyone should have the opportunity to work part-time if they so wished. The committee discussed the ways this could be implemented.

The Employers' Association, however, viewed part-time work more critically as they felt it was difficult to put into practice.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry for Family Affairs agreed to put together a report on their position and proposals ahead of the next committee meeting.
