This week, our journey takes us through the Guttland region, located in the heart of the Grand Duchy. Characterised by expansive fields, woodland landscapes, and historic farmsteads, Guttland remains deeply rooted in Luxembourg’s agricultural past. The region’s rich heritage is present everywhere you look, from the rolling countryside to the picturesque villages.

In addition to the famous Valley of the Seven Castles, both the central and western parts of the country attract visitors with a wealth of cycling routes, such as the Atert cycling path, which follows a former railway line along the Belgian border. Hikers are also well catered for, with the Guttland Trails offering scenic walks across the region.

Among the highlights are Ansembourg Castle, renowned for its impressive gardens, and Useldange Castle, which rises above the village and dominates the landscape. Our journey also took us to Hesperange and Bissen, capturing the most beautiful aspects of these Guttland communities.

Photographer Domingos Oliveira travelled through Guttland for RTL, capturing the region’s most striking views and architectural landmarks. Every day, we are adding a new photo gallery showcasing a different location.
