A woman driving lost control of her vehicle at around 10.30 pm on Monday night after overtaking another vehicle on the road.
First of all the car skidded into a ditch, crashed into a tree, and stopped in a stream several metres on. The driver had to be taken to hospital, but was not critically injured. Her vehicle, however, was totalled.
At the hospital, the woman tested positive for both alcohol and narcotics. She received a provisional driving ban and had her license confiscated.
