The author of one of the petitions argues that Luxembourg should ban fur products and outlaw the sale of fur clothing to prevent animal cruelty.
Another petition hopes to tighten Luxembourg's smoking laws and ban smoking in front of building and at bus or tram stops. The author argues that smoking should not be allowed within a 20-metre distance of these public spaces in order to prevent passive smoking.
The third petition aims to grant voting rights to foreigners if they are EU citizens. The author of the fourth petition calls for a referendum about a new constitution.
The petitions can be signed until 12 March. If a petition reaches 4,500 signatures it will be publicly debated at the Chamber of Deputies.
