The Limpertsberg syndicate would like to build a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists to be able to cross from Limpertsberg to Bambësch, with a lift to go down to Muhlenbach. The association presented a corresponding project at their general meeting on Monday evening.
The project had been designed in collaboration with an engineering firm. The bridge is supposed to rest on a number of pillars, would be 36 m above ground at its highest point, and would be roughly 350 m long. The estimated cost before tax is about €6.1 to 6.2 million.

The so-called "Westpist“ is supposed to connect the park in the City Centre with Bambësch. The Limpertsberg syndicate is hoping to decrease congestion through this project, especially in Muhlenbach. The president Romain Diederich talked about the project in an interview with RTL. He said that the project would allow people to walk or cycle to Limpertsberg and therefore ease congestion in Muhlenbach. They could then also benefit from the cycle paths in direction of Luxembourg City Centre or Kirchberg. This would also reduce through traffic in Limpertsberg.
