UN General SecretaryGuterres supports CO2 tax and income tax reduction

RTL Today
UN General secretary Antonio Guterres backs CO2 tax, however only if citizens are financially relieved elsewhere

This is what the Portuguese politician declared in an interview that appeared in the "Süddeutsche Zeitung".

In order for people to accept the concept of a CO2 tax, it would help for people to have to pay less in other areas, such as income tax: this would ensure that people would not be worse off at the end of it.

This would also help avoid populists exploiting the move in order to promote their own case, so Guterres.
