Medical robots are becoming increasingly important in the medical sciences. Surgical robots in particular can be more precise than an unassisted human surgeon and even allow remote surgery.

Luxembourg's hospitals are trying to keep pace with these technological developments and permanently renew and replace their medical equipment.

Unsurprisingly, the doctors and nurses at CHL need to adapt to the changing medical world and get used to the new technologies. For this reason, they regularly participate in additional training sessions.

In this context, CHL director Dr. Martine Goergen explains that medical and surgical simulation programs and 3D animations are key learning tools. They, for example, allow more frequent opportunities to practise surgical movements and hand gestures in a safe environment.
