At a little after 6:30 am this morning (5 June), officers of the Givenich Correctional Centre (CPG) discovered a lifeless inmate when on rounds of the cells.
The news was announced this morning by the Government, in an official statement. The judicial authorities were informed and an autopsy was conducted.
The cause of death is not yet known. The deceased's family has been informed.
The GPG is a semi-open prison with a capacity to host a hundred people.
