The event is due to take place in the car park outside Eirelux in Howald (40 Rue des Bruyères), where Santa's Grotto will be assembled.
The club hopes that the drive-by Grotto will provide an opportunity for children to see Santa in the run-up to Christmas, despite the Covid restrictions in place.
In a statement, the club says:
The ICL committee had been planning a Children’s Christmas Party at Eirelux and had worked out how we could hold this in a safe environment while respecting the physical distancing, hygiene and mask-wearing restrictions. However, with the Luxembourg government’s announcement earlier this week of tighter restrictions to come into force from 26 Nov to 15 Dec, we have had to change our approach to one that respects the tightened restrictions but which still allows the children to visit Santa, albeit in these difficult times during the COVID-19 pandemic. After all, Christmas would not be the same without a visit to Santa! We are determined to facilitate a Santa’s Grotto and, at the same time, ensure that this is organised in a safe environment. So, although there will no longer be a Children’s Christmas Party this year, children will still be able to visit Santa.
As a result, families can arrive in their own vehicles while their children can chat with Santa, receive a small gift from him and have their photo taken with him, while remaining in their vehicle at all times. In this way, there is no interaction with anyone apart from Santa who will be using hand-sanitiser between each and every vehicle/family visit.

Cost: €3 for children of ICL members; €8 for non-members (to be paid to the ICL a/c at IBAN LU08 0030 2513 4451 0000, mentioning “Santa’s Grotto” and the children’s name(s) and age(s)). Upon registration and receipt of payment, you will receive confirmation with further details.
