Operation "Hazeldonk"Large-scale drug checks conducted on A6 motorway on Thursday evening

Similar efforts were simultaneously conducted by Belgian, Dutch, and French authorities.

The control lasted from 6.00 p.m. until midnight. Close to 50 police and customs officers participated in the operation. Five sniffer dogs were also present.

Officers checked a total of 36 cars and 39 individuals. In the end, police found more than €10,000 of undeclared cash money, as well as minor amounts of cannabis.

The routinely executed joint operation between Luxembourgish, Belgian, Dutch, and French authorities is named “Hazeldonk” after a small Dutch town near the Belgian border, a juncture known to experience a lot of drug trafficking.
