Police carried out 36 searches in seven countries between 9 and 11 December. They questioned 44 suspects - 11 individuals were arrested.

The large-scale operation was a success: police seized counterfeit notes, drugs, weapons, doping products, and virtual currencies. An underground counterfeit money factory was dismantled in Germany and nine searches were carried out in Austria, France, Greece, Ireland, Spain, and Luxembourg.

The operation had been initiated after a counterfeit banknote factory was dismantled in Portugal in July 2019. This first bust allowed police to put an end to a network that had already sold 26,000 fake notes all over Europe.
