The Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs has announced it will donate a second contribution of €250,000 in financial aid to Mozambique.

The sum will be allocated to Unicef to contribute towards the organisation's efforts in sanitising water in Mozambique and in constructing temporary centres destined towards shelter and educating some 38,000 children.

The directorate, which falls under the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, allocated €250,000 towards the international Red Cross previously.

Two of the five emergency.lu mobile communication platforms set up in Mozambique remain operational.
