Luxembourg has a new ambassador for its wine: On Friday evening, during the annual Grape and Wine Festival in Grevenmacher, Lynn was crowned as the 76th Grape and Wine Queen, succeeding Jill in the role. Joining her court are princesses Anne, Noémie, and Lana, who will support her as she represents the region’s wine culture throughout the coming year.

Shortly after her coronation, Lynn spoke to RTL and described her excitement: “I am incredibly happy and proud to take on this role – it feels truly special. This is a tradition we have maintained for years, and it is a great honour.”

Before becoming queen, each candidate gains experience as a princess, learning about the responsibilities involved. Lynn reflected on her time as princess, sharing some of her memorable experiences and the valuable preparation it provided for her new position:

"We have been to a great many events in Germany, but also in Luxembourg; we have seen the different cultures and got to know the different wine regions. But also here in Luxembourg, we have a Broom Queen and a Flower Queen. I think people do not necessarily know about them straight away, and it is lovely to get to know them too and to make new friendships."

As the new Wine Queen, Lynn emphasised her commitment to involving the princesses in her activities, aiming to ensure they remain an integral part of the team and the traditions they help uphold:

"Well, I do my best to ensure that the princesses are much more involved in the coming years. Because it often happens that they are simply pushed a little into the background. They do the same job as me in the end, just with a slightly smaller crown, because they are still in training. And I find it incredibly important that they are valued just as much as I am."

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Viticulture Martine Hansen attended the coronation ceremony and highlighted the special significance of the wine queen’s role as a cultural ambassador, particularly for the Moselle region:

"That is proof of how proud we are of our wine and of our Crémant. And that is why I also want to say a big thank you to the Wine Queens – to Lynn and also to Jill – because they do a fantastic job promoting our country, which takes dedication. It is a great commitment, and I want to thank them. We have excellent wine; we can be proud of it, so keep up the great work."

The festivities in Grevenmacher will continue over the weekend, with a showband parade and fireworks scheduled for 10pm on Saturday, followed by a procession through the town on Sunday.
