Subtropical temperatures are set to reign throughout the day before turning this evening. The humid air masses that are sweeping through the Grand Duchy bear with them the promise of more stormy weather.

Meteolux initially issued a yellow alert, but has updated it to an orange alert for strong storms, including heavy rainfall, hail, and wind gusts. The alert covers the entire country.

The alert concerns Wednesday starting at 8pm and lasting until Thursday at 1am. Wind gusts will exceed speeds of 90 km/h. The weather service has warned that there may be damage and flooding. The authorities advise residents to act cautiously, notably avoiding walking through forests for the duration of the alert.

On Tuesday

With temperatures reaching up to 31 °C, Tuesday's weather gave the feeling of high summer. Subtropical conditions were forecast, and these predictions were fulfilled. Western winds then introduced heavy wind and thunderstorms.

These conditions were the reasons behind Meteolux's yellow alert, which developed into an orange alert. Between 6pm and 10pm the heavens did indeed seem to cave in, with substantial rainfall, thunder, lightning and even hail.
