The accident occurred shortly before 7am on the CR176. According to the police, a boar crossed the road in front of the motorcyclist, who tried to avoid the collision by changing direction.
The force of the impact sent the biker flying into the ditch by the side of the road. The road in question was closed for approximately 30 minutes, so as to allow for the rescue of the driver.
An ambulance from Esch, Samu, three unit from the fire brigade and a police patrol were mobilised at the scene of the accident.
The rider is currently in critical condition and undergoing emergency medical care.
