OGBL's Labour Day festivities"Nationalism is bad for workers"

RTL Today
The Independent Luxembourg Trade Confederation (OGBL) took the opportunity to link their Labour Day festivities to Europe Day on 9 May.

Following the passing of Grand Duke Jean and the subsequent state of mourning, the OGBL rescheduled their traditional 1 May festivities for work and culture to 9 May, Europe Day. Despite a lower turnout than usual, perhaps due to the disagreeable weather, visitors to Neumünster in the Grund enjoyed a mix of musical, culinary and cultural activities, as well as ateliers aimed at children.

The president of the OGBL, André Roeltgen, took the opportunity to make a link between Labour Day and Europe Day, in light of the upcoming European elections and the question of socialism in Europe. He stressed the importance of denying all forms of nationalism, saying the nationalist way would negatively affect workers, their families, and their rights.
