Train passengers travelling from Howald will face significant disruptions from Monday, 24 August to Friday, 28 August, as no trains will depart from the station towards Rodange or Metz.

This interruption is due to summer engineering works being carried out by Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL), which will temporarily close part of the rail tracks and restrict train movement along this section of the network.

Trains on the Luxembourg – Thionville – Metz and Luxembourg – Esch-sur-Alzette – Rodange lines will still serve Howald station, but only towards Luxembourg-Gare (the central station). There will be no services in the opposite direction for the duration of the works.

CFL is taking advantage of the reduced summer passenger numbers to progress with several technical upgrades to the network, limiting access for certain trains to the Howald interchange.

Travellers who need to reach Metz, Thionville, Esch-sur-Alzette, or Rodange from Howald will first need to travel to Luxembourg's main railway station by train or tram. From there, they can continue their journey on their usual rail line.

CFL is advising passengers to plan for this necessary detour and apologises for any inconvenience caused by these essential works.
