RTL Today
In a statement published on Wednesday, the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) addressed a series of proposed measures to Minister of Labour Dan Kersch.

As part of the "Nos commerces, nos emplois, notre avenir" campaign ("our businesses, our jobs, our future") the OGBL proposed six measures to support trade and preserve jobs in this sector:

  • the introduction of a sectoral collective agreement for small businesses,
  • a job retention plan for the retail sector,
  • public consumption vouchers,
  • rent freeze for businesses,
  • a moratorium on shopping centres, to prevent the construction of new centres for the next three years,
  • clearly regulated working hours for employees in the sector.

Kersch said he supported the idea of a sectoral collective agreement, as well as the issue of part-time work and the exploitation of part time workers.
