When the firefighters arrived at the site of the incident at around 4.30 pm, a large portion of the roof was already in flames.
Part of the emergency team were the firefighters from Sandweiler, Hesperange, Moutfort and Roeser.
In a press release published by the Hesperange firefighters on Thursday morning, it says that the fire-fighting operation was anything but easy. The flames had spread to a 'false ceiling' and the operation was also made difficult by the poor weather conditions.
The mission lasted until 9.30pm. The Niederanven firefighters stayed on site over night to prevent the fire from rekindling.
According to the emergency services, one person was injured. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
