Average weekly fuel prices have risen since the beginning of the year in France. Starting at €1.3760 on January 4, diesel now sells, on average, at €1.4612 per liter (+9 cents). The SP-95 / E10 and the SP-98 are estimated at €1.5170 and €1.6014 (+13 and +14 cents respectively).
These are prices close to those in effect at the beginning of the Yellow Vests movement, and they are very sensitive to market developments: barrel production and global consumption. Since the start of the year, the price of a barrel of brent crude oil has increased by nearly $30.
Even Luxembourg, where fuel is taxed less, has experienced similar increases over the same period: +7 cents for diesel, +12 cents for SP95 and +16 cents for SP98.
