The CFL continues to focus on strengthening employee safety, notably through increased security personnel, joint operations with police and customs officers, and various awareness and prevention initiatives.
As a result, the number of reported serious physical assaults against CFL staff has fallen.
According to answers provided by Ministers Yuriko Backes, Léon Gloden, and Élisabeth Margue to a question from the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (ADR), incidents in which CFL employees were spat on dropped from 23 cases in 2024 to 9 in 2025.
Similarly, the number of physical attacks resulting in injury decreased from 8 to 2 over the same period.
However, some categories of incidents have seen an increase.
Cases of vandalism, moral or sexual harassment, and especially verbal abuse against CFL staff have risen significantly between 2024 and 2025.
