The first auditions for the Luxembourg Song Contest will take place at the RTL building from 16 to 18 October, allowing all 80 applicants to present themselves before a professional jury.
Unlike in previous editions, contestants are no longer required to arrive with a finished song; this year, solo vocalists can simply audition as singers, with songs still being accepted during this initial phase.
To qualify as a singer, participants must meet at least one of the following criteria: they must hold Luxembourgish nationality, have resided in Luxembourg for at least three years, or demonstrate another strong connection to the country’s cultural and music scene.
During this opening stage, the jury will judge candidates based on their vocal skills, artistic identity, and stage presence. The panel will then select the artists who best meet these conditions to progress to the next round. Successful candidates will be notified across all RTL platforms on Monday afternoon.

Alongside the artist selection, song submissions are also underway. Both local and international songwriters are invited to propose songs for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027, and artists who pass the first round are likewise encouraged to submit their own material. More than 300 songs have already been received, with submissions remaining open until 29 October. Once this deadline passes, the song selection process concludes.
In the next phase, known as the Pairing Workshops, shortlisted artists and songs will be matched to form the best possible combinations, aiming to maximise Luxembourg’s Eurovision potential with outstanding performances.

Every stage of the process is overseen by Eurovision experts, whose identities will be revealed as proceedings continue. The final lineup of contestants for the Luxembourg Song Contest is expected to be announced in mid-November.
This year’s Luxembourg Song Contest is scheduled for 30 January 2027 at Rockhal, with tickets set to go on sale in early December. As in previous years, the winner will represent Luxembourg at the next Eurovision Song Contest.
