Esch-sur-Alzette Resistance museum renamed "National Museum of Resistance and Human Rights"
The museum, which was founded in 1956 at the Place de la Résistance in Esch-sur-Alzette, has been given a new name to accompany its renovation.
The museum is currently closed for building work, expected to reopen in full in February 2023. However, it will host a number of temporary exhibitions next year to celebrate Esch-sur-Alzette’s title of European Capital of Culture 2022.
Once the current expansion and renovation works are complete, the museum will cover an area of 870 square metres - three times larger than its previous imprint.
