Initially, water levels in the Our and Alzette rivers had dropped after surging on Sunday morning, but by midday on Monday, the situation has u-turned.
The heavy rainfall of the past few days has ensured that rivers and streams in Luxembourg have been thoroughly replenished. The Water Management Agency's flooding service has warned that some rivers, namely the rivers Sûre, Alzette, Chiers, and Syr, have been put on standby for flooding risks.
