Officers were called to the airport area at around midnight after two men came to blows on a bus heading towards Findel. What had begun as a verbal altercation between several passengers escalated into a physical fight. Police attended and the situation briefly calmed down.

But the calm did not last. When officers left and the two men boarded a second bus, hostilities resumed. The pair fought again, and both fell as they attempted to get off the vehicle, sustaining minor injuries. Given that they remained uncooperative with officers and were both visibly intoxicated, posing a danger to themselves and others, they were placed under arrest to sober up.

Bistro brawl in Esch-sur-Alzette

Around the same time, officers from Esch were called to a fight at a bistro on Place de l'Europe. Both men involved were still on the premises when police arrived. One proved particularly uncooperative, refusing to comply with officers' requests to leave. He was subsequently arrested, though not before receiving a medical assessment.
