Discovered at 5.30am, the fire had ignited but there was no visible flame. Firefighters from Boevange-sur-Attert, Tuntange, and Lintgen attended the scene alongside an ambulance from Mamer and the police.

The residents of the home were alerted to the fire by their smoke alarm.

The smoke alarm allowed the residents to contact the emergency services, thus limiting the fire before any material damage or injuries occurred.
