Luxembourg City will be accessible as usual throughout most of the day, with road closures not coming into effect until early evening. Kirchberg (where the marathon starts and ends) and Limpertsberg are expected to close around 5pm, followed by the city centre, Hollerich and Merl closing around 7pm. There will be a number of access points where vehicles can pass but it is strongly advised to avoid driving to the city where possible. Park and rides are available, as is public transport.
Police are preparing for tonight's marathon, expecting thousands of spectators to attend the event. Around 300 police officers will be engaged to ensure safety for runners, spectators, and drivers, stationed at important posts along the marathon's route. The police would also like to remind attendees to be vigilant in case of pickpockets and to report any disturbing behaviour.
