As of yet, the cause of the collision remains undetermined. One of the drivers became trapped in their car following the collision.
Emergency service personnel had to cut the driver out of the vehicle.
According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps bulletin, two people sustained injuries. One person was more severely injured.
The accident was attended to by Mertert and Junglinster ambulances, first responders, and the Flaxweiler and Mertert fire brigades.
The road was closed completely during the rescue operation and road reopened at 8.45am.
