
The two people inside the car, a 54-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man from the German border region, died from their injuries on the site of the accident. The driver and passenger of the lorry, who have not sustained any serious injuries according to preliminary information, as well as one other person, who is in shock, had to be admitted to hospital.
The N2 continues to be closed to traffic.
Following the accident, the police have launched a call for witnesses. In particular, they are looking for the driver of a dark car, who was driving towards Luxembourg City when the accident occurred, as well as a woman between 45 and 50 years old who talked to someone in Luxembourgish on the site of the accident and was crossing the pedestrian bridge when the accident occurred.
