Public transportUnion proposes security cameras and panic buttons for Luxembourg buses

RTL Today
Following a recent incident in which a bus driver was assaulted by a passenger, the LCGB union has reiterated demands for further security measures on public transport.

The union demands that the government and the federation of coach and bus operators (FLEAA) prioritise the necessary measures to effectively protect bus drivers while performing their duties.

The LCGB said the employer should be responsible for the safety and health of all of its employees, while taking into account the professional risks related to the job, subsequently adopting the necessary measures to achieve this.

Faced with an exponential influx of travellers from free public transport, the LCGB also called for the urgent establishment of accompanying security guards aboard all public transport, including buses. Such a presence is already provided for in all trains running on Luxembourg territory.
