Lux-Film-Fest"Zero Impunity": political activism amid media excess?

RTL Today
The documentary 'Zero Impunity', with its main theme of zero tolerance towards sexual violence in war zones, was shown as part of the Lux-Film-Fest.

‘Zero Impunity’ gives victims of sexual violence in war zones from across the entire world a voice.

The documentary is based exclusively on investigative reports published by more than 15 media platforms in 10 countries. French current affairs news outlet ‘Mediapart’, which used to be led by ‘Monde’ editor-in-chief Edwy Plenel, figures amongst those published in the film. The project was put in place by a group of independent journalists who are part of Youpress, along with film makers, artists, whistleblowers and activists.

A collaboration with change.org allowed for surveys to be expanded and for digital protests to be projected onto the walls of large buildings in public places. ‘Zero Impunity’ is, therefore, a transmedia project. It has become a movement with the aim of putting pressure on leaders of the political, juridical, military and media worlds in order to end impunity, or exemption from punishment, in the context of sexual violence in war zones.
