
According to Belgian media reports, the blaze started shortly before 5pm. Thick plumes of black smoke quickly rose above the site and were visible from neighboring Luxembourg.
The cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage remain unknown at this stage.
Emergency services have launched a large-scale operation to secure the area. Firefighters from Arlon, Aubange, Étalle, and Virton have been dispatched to the scene, along with police units, according to the Belgian outlet L’Avenir.
Authorities say the intervention is ongoing as crews work to contain the fire and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
