Swiss police have launched a large-scale operation after shots were fired at the "Aarau Rave Vol. 7", an electronic music event held in the north of Switzerland, at around 2.30am on Sunday.
According to the authorities, the incident involved gunfire among a large group of people, resulting in multiple victims.
Initially, police only confirmed that there were victims, but later reported that one person had died and five others were injured, some of them seriously. It remains unclear how many perpetrators were involved or whether any suspects have been apprehended or remain at large.
Police have yet to provide details about the sequence of events or a possible motive, and investigations are ongoing at the scene. The police response is still underway, with significant resources deployed to the site.
According to Swiss daily "Blick," which cited eyewitness accounts, there may have been four perpetrators, although this has not been officially confirmed. Witnesses said that when gunshots rang out, partygoers sought cover behind the DJ booth.
The Aarau Rave is an electronic music event held at the horse racing track in the Swiss town of Aarau. The party, which began on Saturday afternoon, attracted around 3,500 attendees.
