The Indian Association of Luxembourg (IAL) is preparing for one of the highlights of its annual calendar, with the Diwali Gala 2026 taking place at GRIDX in Wickrange on Saturday, November 14th, from 6pm.
Celebrating the Festival of Lights, the event brings together members of Luxembourg's Indian community, friends and guests from across the country's diplomatic, business and cultural circles for an evening of entertainment and celebration.
This year is particularly special, marking 35 years of the Indian Association of Luxembourg.
Speaking on the Sam Steen Show, IAL President Sahil Goel explained that Diwali celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, while the gala provides an opportunity to share Indian traditions and culture with the wider Luxembourg community.
The association has organised celebrations for decades, creating a space for people to connect with their heritage while introducing others to Indian music, dance and traditions.
For Amardeep Talwar, who will be MCing this year's event, the gala has a particularly personal significance.
Born and raised in Luxembourg, she has attended the celebrations since childhood and has previously performed on stage herself.
She recalled how important the association's events were growing up, particularly at a time when Luxembourg's Indian community was much smaller.
The gala, she explained, has always felt like a large family celebration, bringing generations together through music, dance and shared traditions.

This year's programme promises a mixture of traditional and contemporary entertainment, with several dance groups taking to the stage.
Among the highlights will be the return of a Rajasthani dance group, who previously performed in Luxembourg around 15 years ago and have taken their performances to audiences around the world.
A Bhangra group from Brussels will also return following an appearance at last year's gala, alongside locally based dancers bringing another dimension to the programme.
With a large stage and screen at GRIDX, the organisers are promising a colourful evening of performances, music and celebration.
There will also be opportunities to meet people from across Luxembourg's business and cultural communities, alongside the food and festivities that have become a familiar part of the annual event.
The gala forms part of the Indian Association of Luxembourg's 35th anniversary celebrations, which have already included September's India Day event.
Sahil also hinted at a few surprises planned for attendees on the night.
And while the evening celebrates Indian heritage, the organisers emphasised that everyone is welcome, regardless of background.
