To coincide with LuxFilmFest's grand opening, organisers shared some details with RTL of what to expect.

On Thursday evening, the 16th edition of LuxFilmFest was launched. Over the coming nine days, over 200 films will be screened across various categories. Eighteen films have been nominated for best film, with an international jury to decide the winner on 14 March.

Chiara Lentz, programme organiser for the Luxembourg Film Festival, told RTL that 1,000 films had been submitted for consideration for the festival. Numerous committees and experts were required to make a shortlist. One committee was tasked with choosing documentaries, while others focused on fictional stories. Lentz said they were pleased with the final selection of 200 films.
