Luxembourg City is once again filled with the sounds of the Blues'n'Jazz Rallye on Saturday evening.
The free open-air event is one of the highlights of the capital's summer programme and attracts thousands of visitors to the Grund, Clausen, and Pfaffenthal districts each year.
More than 40 artists are performing across six outdoor stages, with further concerts taking place in cafés and restaurants. The programme brings together Luxembourgish and international musicians in some of the city's most atmospheric settings.
Among the home-grown highlights is the Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen Trio. Featuring Michel Reis, Marc Demuth, and Paul Wiltgen, the jazz group was formed in 1998, when all three musicians were still at secondary school together.
After reuniting in 2011, the trio built an international reputation and has since performed at major jazz festivals across Europe, Asia, North and South America, and Africa.
Some festivalgoers had difficulty reaching the lower districts at the start of the event after the panoramic lift connecting the upper city with Pfaffenthal broke down.
A Schindler team was already on site earlier in the evening to investigate the problem.
