You can look forward to these exciting tasks:
• Drive expert opinion to understand issues related to material behaviour including microstructure, optics, stress, and failure mode. Partner with Product Development Engineers on best project outcomes
• Serve as technical checkpoint to ensure testing or simulation accurately depicts real world application, including consideration of potential failure modes
• Use state of the art lab equipment, critically analyse test results to understand true product behaviour at the material level and then make informed recommendations for product improvement (Including clear & concise technical reports)
• Participate in University/RTO outreach and co-development programs, coordinate their execution
• Based on customer requirements, devise standards, Product Verification Plans and best in class procedures for prototype testing of novel ideas/concepts. This may include technologies such as coating, laminations, electronics, and associated assemblies
• Through work with R&D team or beyond, participate on benchmarking and IP generation, being first to market
Here's what you can bring to the team:
• MS or PhD degree with expertise in glass/ceramics or organic materials, adhesives, and bonding
• 3+ years experience in a scientist position, in a Glass Research setting preferred
• Knowledge of Python is mandatory
• Knowledge of Minitab, statistical software and/or image process software are a plus
• Business fluent English is mandatory, German is a plus
• Creativity, determination to analyse root causes, solution focused research
